When should I offer a slower nipple flow?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

As a general guide, you may wish to introduce the relevant nipple according to your child’s age, observe if the nipple flow is appropriate for him/her first, and adjust accordingly.

If the following signs are observed, it may be an indication to offer a slow nipple flow:

i. Baby chokes or coughs

ii. Gulps or swallows hard

iii. Regurgitates a lot of milk

iv. Milk is overflowing from the sides of the mouth

v. Refuses the bottle
